Meeting of Ambassador Nazarian with Mendonça e Moura, Secretary General of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry

On December 6 Garen Nazarian, Armenia’s Ambassador to Portugal (with residence in Rome) presented a copy of his credentials to Alvaro Mendonça e Moura, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry of the Portuguese Republic.

During the meeting, the Armenian Ambassador highlighted the importance of the high-level and working visits of the executive authorities, contacts between the parliamentary and business circles, including multilateral diplomacy platforms, in order to advance the political dialogue between the two countries.

Mendonça e Moura expressed his readiness to assist the Ambassador in effectively carrying out his functions, assuring multifaceted support of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry.

At Mendonça e Moura's request, Ambassador introduced the ongoing reforms in Armenia, the latest developments in the region, the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process and approaches of the Armenian side in this regard.

On the same day, meetings of Ambassador Nazarian with Portuguese Foreign Ministry officials took place in Lisbon. The interlocutors discussed the development of cooperation in bilateral trade-economic and sectoral fields, within the framework of international structures, the course of Armenia-EU relations, as well as other issues of bilateral interest.
